The Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) on Thursday organized the “International Level Crossing Awareness Day ” in different places of Assam.
NFR officials sensitized the public on the need of following traffic rules to prevent accidents at railway level crossing gates.

Such sensitization campaigns were conducted in NFR’s Guwahati, Rangiya, Lumding and Alipurduar divisions.
There was no loss of life of any passenger travelling in trains operated by the NFR in any accident during 2020-21, said sources.

Implementation of various safety measures along with increased alertness on the part of railway staff helped in averting train accidents even during the lockdown period, when there was an increased movement of freight and parcel carrying trains.
