Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that there are no plans of renaming the airport in Guwahati.
CM Sarma gave this assurance after meeting officials of the Adani group, which will take over the management of the airport.
“Name of Guwahati airport will always remain Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport,” Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

CM Sarma said that even the Adani group has no intention of renaming the airport in Guwahati, Assam.

“During discussions, I clearly told that name of Guwahati Airport will always remain as Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport. Sri Adani assured that & further committed to develop this as among the best airports in India,” the Assam chief minister said.

There have been speculations and apprehensions that the name of the Guwahati airport would be renamed.
Many feared that the name of the airport in Guwahati would be changed from Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport to Adani Guwahati Airport.
