Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to resume the services of two pairs more daily passenger special trains during September 2021 for the benefit of short-distance travellers.
Among these passenger special trains – one train will run from Guwahati to Mendipathar (Meghalaya) and another train will run from Guwahati to Mairabari.

“With this, local train services for the people of Meghalaya would be restored,” NF Railway said in a statement.
Resumption of passenger train services:
Services of Train No. 05020/05019 Guwahati-Mendipathar-Guwahati daily passenger special have been resumed leaving Guwahati from September 10 and leaving Mendipathar from September 11, 2021.

The train leaving Mendipathar daily at 7-00 am will reach Guwahati at 11-45 am and leaving Guwahati at 4-20 pm will reach Mendipathar at 8-10 pm.
Services of Train No. 05503/05504 Guwahati-Mairabari-Guwahati daily passenger special have been resumed leaving Guwahati from September 11 and leaving Mairabari from September 12, 2021.
The train leaving Mairabari daily at 4-00 am will reach Guwahati at 9-25 am and leaving Guwahati at 5-40 pm will reach Mairabari at 9-15 pm.
The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available on the IRCTC website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of NF Railway.
Passengers are requested to see these details before undertaking their journey.
During the train journey and on arrival at their destination, the passengers will have to adhere to prevailing health protocols of the destination state.
“All passengers are requested to co-operate with the railway and respective state govt officials in this regard,” said Guneet Kaur, chief public relations officer in the statement.
