State skill, employment, and entrepreneurship minister Chandra Mohan Patowary on Saturday said that the next job mela in Assam will be held online.
Speaking about the mismanagement during the job fair in the state, Patowary said that other district did quite well in the fair but there were “some mismanagement” in Guwahati.
He claimed that officials were responsible for this mismanagement and strict actions were taken against the officials involved.
He added keeping in mind the mismanagement, the next fair will be held online.

“A portal is being developed for the purpose. The portal will cater to employers and job seekers”, he added.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said that actions will be taken against officials behind the mismanagement of the program.
CM Sarma said that he asked minister Chandra Mohan Patowary to look into the issue.
He said, “Before organizing such a program, there should have been newspaper advertisements clearing out that the jobs would be from private companies.”

He added that the mela could have been organized online to prevent the crowd.
“It was wrong to trouble so many youths like this”, he added.
It may be mentioned that on Friday, two officials were also suspended over the mismanagement of the statewide program.
On Thursday, a score of unemployed youths rushed to the job mela hoping to get a stable job in the government sector but to their dismay, the counters in the government arranged program was filled with private companies.
