The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has recently announced the opening of a new Aadhaar enrolment centre in Guwahati.

The new centre located in third floor of Sureka Square in Guwahati’s Lachit Nagar area can service up to 1000 requests per day.

One who is looking for fresh Aadhaar enrolment or choosing for modification of details – name, address, mobile number, email id, date of birth, gender, biometric – for their existing Aadhaar cards can book an appointment at the new centre online through the UIDAI website.

The new Aadhaar enrolment centre will be opened from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm for six days in a week.

The centre will remain closed every Tuesday.

While fresh Aadhaar enrolment at this centre is free, one wishing to apply for modification of details in their existing Aadhaar cards will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.

It may be mentioned that Centre introduced Aadhaar system on January 28, 2009.

UIDAI issue a 12-digit unique identification number to Indian citizens after collection of their biometric and demographic data.

The Aadhaar Card can be used as a valid identity and address proof document all over India.
