Finally, the NDFB-S vice-president and army chief, G. Bidai along with his deputy Batha returned to the mainstream on Wednesday.
Besides G Bidai alias Bishnu Goyary alias Haranga and Batha alias M Biban alias Binod Mushahary alias Gojo, around 600 cadres of the NDFB-S also came overground on Wednesday.

All the cadres were given a rousing welcome at Rangapara in Gossaigaon under Kokrajhar district.
They were received by NDFB-S president B Saoraigwra and general secretary BR Ferrenga.
After being welcomed, the militant cadres were taken to the Dhigili designated camp of the NDFB amid tight security.

NDFB-S president B Saoraigwra and general secretary BR Ferrenga along with around 50 cadres of the militant outfit recently returned to the mainstream.

Saoraigwra also signed a tri-partite Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement in New Delhi with the Assam government and the Centre and agreed to shun violence, come overground and join the peace process.
The agreement was signed by Ashutosh Agnihotri, commissioner & secretary, home & political, Assam; Satyendra Garg, joint secretary (Northeast), ministry of home affairs and B. B Saoraigwra, president, NDFB(S).

During the agreement signing event, BR Ferrenga, general secretary of NDFB(S) and two mediators Rajkumar Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech and Thulunga Basumatary were also present.
While Rajkumar Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech is the director of the Northeast Heritage Foundation (NHF), Thulunga Basumatary is the executive director of the Foundation.

As per reports, the ministry of home affairs (MHA) is now working on a draft of the peace agreement, involving three factions of the NDFB.
G Bidai, a cadre of the 16th batch of the outfit, is the son of Golo Goyary of Oxiguri village under Gobordhana police station in Baksa district.

Before the designated camp, G. Bidai was taken to his home at Oxiguri.
Batha, the agricultural secretary of NDFB-S and a cadre of 13th batch, was trained in Bhutan. He is the son of Toren Brahma of Daolaguri in Kokrajhar district.
With the return of all the leaders of the NDFB(S) to the mainstream, the peace process is expected to get final shape.
