GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who wrapped up his election campaign across the state on Sunday (May 05), described the experience as akin to a spiritual pilgrimage.

Over the span of 40 days, CM Sarma traversed Assam, addressing 117 public meetings and road shows, engaging with citizens from all walks of life.

Reflecting on the election campaigning for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma likened his campaign to a pilgrimage, stating, “My election campaign in Assam was like a pilgrimage. In the last 40 days, I covered the entire state and addressed 117 public meetings and road shows. It felt like a holy dip in the Ganges for me.”

Sarma expressed gratitude for the vibrant atmosphere and the blessings bestowed upon him by the people of Assam, noting that they had completely rejuvenated him.

As the election campaign in Assam drew to a close on May 05, Sarma reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Assam, pledging to dedicate every moment of his life to their welfare and prosperity.

“I will continue to dedicate every moment of my life to the people of Assam,” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
