A total of 74 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Assam till Monday afternoon, taking the state’s overall tally to 466.

Clarify on the state of increase in the number of cases, state health minister on Monday said that most of these cases are not home-grown.
In a tweet he said, “It is clarified that all swabs are collected from people soon after they arrive from outstation.”

“Subsequently they are transferred to the quarantine centres. Therefore most of the positive cases in Assam are imported and not home-grown!” he added.

So far four persons have died of COVID-19 in Assam. There are 402 active cases in the state and 57 patients have recovered so far.
