Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a foundation stone laying spree ahead of Assembly elections in Assam.
After laying the foundation stones for two bridges on the Brahmaputra on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi will lay foundation stones for several central government schemes in the state on March 2.
Sources said that Modi will lay foundation stones for several projects in poll-bound Kerala on February 27, West Bengal on February 28, Tamil Nadu on March 1, and Assam on March 2.
Meanwhile, Union Agriculture Minister and BJP’s Assam’s election in-charge Narendra Singh Tomar on Friday chaired a core committee meeting of the party and discussed strategies for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, state BJP president Ranjeet Dass, DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh, BJP general secretary Vijayant Jay Panda, Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, senior party leader Dilip Saikia among others were present in the meeting.
Sources in the party said that the meeting discussed the overall strategies of the party for the upcoming elections.
The meeting also discussed the names of the party’s star campaigner in the election.
