Prime Minister Nardnera Modi on Friday assured that his government would provide all possible help to Assam for countering the flood fury.
Modi was talking to a delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs from Assam at his office in the Parliament.
The delegation comprised union minister Rameswar Teli, Mangaldai MP Dilip Saikia, Tezpur MP Pallab Lochan Das, Guwahati MP Queen Oja, Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and Jorhat MP Topon Kumar Gogoi among others.

“The Prime Minister listened to us very carefully and assured that he would take all possible steps to help the Assam government and the people of the state,” said Dilip Saikia.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Modi.
The delegation appealed to the PM for a special package for central flagship projects like PMGSY, PMAY and PMKSY.
“The damage happens every year and it affects the entire state of Assam, and it has become a nightmare for the people of the state,” the delegation said in its memorandum.
The delegation appealed to provide special central assistance to the flood affected areas of Assam.
“We also appealed you to provide additional fund under flood management and border area programme scheme for effective flood management and erosion control…,”said the BJP MPs in their memorandum.
