“The Prime Minister listened to us very carefully and assured that he would take all possible steps to help the Assam government and the people of the state,” said Dilip Saikia.

The delegation also submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Modi.

The delegation appealed to the PM for a special package for central flagship projects like PMGSY, PMAY and PMKSY.

“The damage happens every year and it affects the entire state of Assam, and it has become a nightmare for the people of the state,” the delegation said in its memorandum.

The delegation appealed to provide special central assistance to the flood affected areas of Assam.

“We also appealed you to provide additional fund under flood management and border area programme scheme for effective flood management and erosion control…,”said the BJP MPs in their memorandum.
