Amguri police on Saturday arrested one Kurban Ali alias Kulai Ali from Kamar Gaon Moukhowa in Golaghat district in connection with the incident of stealing of mobile handsets worth rupees 20 lakh from a business establishment at Amguri Town.
Acting on a tip off, police launched a search operation led by officer in-charge JT Baruah and arrested Kurban from a hideout at Kamar Gaon. Police recovered 12 mobile handsets and a laptop from the thief.
Investigation is on into the case as police suspect involvement of two more thieves in the incident.
