Meghalaya: Three drugs peddlers nabbed, over 30,000 Amphetamines tablets seized

Police on Friday arrested three persons including a woman and seized from them over 30,000 Amphetamines tablets worth nearly Rs 3 crore.

The arrested persons were identified as Hanifa Bibi, Md Azad Khan, and Md Samir Khan. The arrest came after police acted on a tip off that two persons from Manipur were staying at a hotel at Khyndai Lad (Police Bazaar) here.

According to police, the arrested persons confessed that they used to sell drugs, and they keep the supply in a house at Madanrting Block I.

Later police conducted a raid at the house owned by a local person and seized around 30,000 Amphetamines or WY tablets weighing 2kgs 900 grams. The seized items cost nearly Rs 3 crore.

A case was registered, and the three accused persons have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
