The COVID-19 death toll in Manipur has reached 44 with four persons succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours.
The total virus tally in the State has climbed to 7,470.
In the last 24 hours,3 persons(2 males aged 46 yrs and 68 yrs) expired at JNIMS and RIMS respectively, stated an official press release.
Again one Central Armed Police Force(42yrs) expired at Churachandpur district hospital.
The cumulative number of deaths is 44, it added.
Meanwhile, with 245 new recoveries reported from eight COVID care facilities in the past 24 hours in the state, the recovery rate of Manipur climbed to 77.55 per cent.
So far, 5,793 persons out of the total 7,470 COVID 19 positive cases have recovered and been discharged from various COVID care centres in the State.
The release said the number of active cases is 1,633.
Stating that 82 persons from the general population and 26 from the CAPF were confirmed as new COVID 19 positive cases in the past 24 hours in Manipur, the release added that they are from Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal, Kakching, Jiribam, Thoubal and Ukhrul, the release added.
Out of the general population, eight persons are returnees from other states while the rest 74 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to COVID care facilities.
