BJP Mamata in Tripura

A man from Assam’s Kokrajhar was arrested by an STF of the West Bengal Police for allegedly stealing two pistols from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s security guard from a train.

As per reports, the arms were stolen from the Kanchanjunga Express near New Cooch Behar Railway Station when the guard along with other personnel was returning to Kolkata from Assam.

Following the incident, an SIT was formed and the police traced one youth in Assam’s Kokrajhar.

The youth was identified as Tapan Das on interrogating him, the SIT recovered the firearms and the ammunition along with other items that belonged to the security personnel.

The other recovered items included his bag, mobile phone, documents, and some money.

The WB Chief Minister had visited Assam to offer prayers at the Kamakhya Temple after the TMC had won the Kolkata Municipal Corporation election.

Since the Chief Minister had permission to travel with only two guards on the flight, the other guards were returning to Kolkata through a train.

During this journey, the suspected person stole the guard’s bag from the train while he was sleeping.
