The Assam government on Thursday effected a major reshuffle in the Assam Police promoting 34 officers to the posts of Additional SPs and shunting out four other Additional SPs from their present places of postings.
A notification in this regard was issued by Additional Chief Secretary, Home (A) Department , Kumar Sanjay Krishna.
Accordingly, SDPO Tamulpur, Manabendra Gogoi has been promoted and transferred as 2 i/c of 5th APBn, Sontila in Dima Hasao district. ACP, Jalukbari Ponjit Dowarah has been promoted as Additional DCP (Control Room) Guwahati in the rank of Addl SP and Assistant Commandant of 10 APBn, Kahilipara Gayatri Sonowal has been promoted as 2 i/c of 10 APBn, Kahilipara.
Namrup Dy SP Ashif Ahmed has been promoted and transferred as Addl. SP Tinsukia. ACP (intelligence), Guwahati, Rozy Rani Sharma has been promoted and transferred as 2 i/c 13 APBn, Lilabari in Lakhimpur. Dy SP (HQ) Dhubri, Nirupam Hazarika, has been promoted as Addl. SP (HQ) Dhubri.
ACP, Panbazar, Suprotive Lal Baruah, has been promoted and transferred as Dy Commandant, CDO Battalion, Mandakata in North Guwahati. SDPO, Lakhipur in Cachar, Gaurav Kr Agarwal has been promoted and transferred as Addl. SP (B), Cachar. Dy SP, SVC, Guwahati, Sumita Shormah, has been promoted and posted as Addl. SP (B) Sonitpur.
Dy SP, SB, CM Security, Rupam Phukan, has been promoted as Addl. SP (S) to CM. Dy SP (HQ), Tinsukia, Rajendra Ojah, has been promoted and transferred as 2 i/c 1st APTF Bn, Dakurbhita in Goalpara. ACP, Chandmari, Bidyut Das Boro has been promoted and transferred as Dy Commandant, CDO Battalion, Mandakata. Boro has also been deputed to I/C Law Cell, APHQ, Ulubari.
Dy SP (HQ), Dibrugarh, Pradip Saikia has been promoted as Addl. SP (B), Dibrugarh. ACP, Noonmati, Purabi Mazumdar, has been promoted and posted as Addl. SP (B), Darrang. Ripunjoy Kakati, Dy SP, SVC, Guwahati, has been promoted and posted as Addl. SP (S), Charaideo.
Other police officials who have been promoted include Olindita Gogoi, Debojit Nath, Partha Bijay Dutta, Munindra Nath Deuri, Ronbir Shormah, Papori Chetia, Iftakhar Ali, Jyoti Ranjan Nath, Kulendra Nath Deka, Pranab Kr Pegu, David Rochunghung Neingaite, Madhurima Das, Geetanjali Doley, Marylyn Zawl Sangmawi, Sachindra Nath Das, Nandini Deka, Karuna Bordoloi, Dinesh Ch Barman, and Hemanta Boruah. Four Addl. SPs namely Patrik Ronghang, Gunendra Deka, Prakash Sonowal and Mukul Rabha have been transferred.
