A major fire broke out in an Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) oil well at Geleki in upper Assam’s Sivasagar district.
ONGC officials said the fire broke out in the noon. The crisis management team of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) were attempting to douse the fire, said an official.
The oil well developed disturbances leading to the uncontrolled release of crude oil and gas, the official added.
