The Kamrup (M) district administration has selected 82 designated points for the sale of vegetables across Guwahati from Wednesday.

The vegetables will be sold at these points from 9 am to 2 pm on alternate days , stated a notification released by the district administration on Monday.

In order to stop the chaos created by people while shopping for vegetables without maintaining social distancing, the Kamrup Metro district administration had on March 28 decided to temporarily close all vegetable wholesale and retail outlets in Guwahati.

Here are the points where you can buy vegetables :

The Kamrup Metro district administration had earlier decided to arrange selling of vegetable at seven designated points in Guwahati from Friday.

While announcing lockdown in Assam a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of 21-day lockdown, state finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had said all markets and shops except groceries and pharmacies would remain closed during the lockdown period.

The 21-day lockdown has been imposed across the country as a preventive against the spread of coronavirus.
