Local people and relatives of Sweta Agarwalla, a meritorious student of KC Das Commerce College, who was allegedly killed by one of her friends, held a protest at Paltan Bazar area in Guwahati on Tuesday demanding justice.
Irked relatives and locals blocked GS road at Paltan Bazar and shouted slogans demanding stringent punishment against the culprit involved in the incident.
“If no action is taken against the culprit within two days, we will call a mass agitation here,” a relative told NE Now.
Body of a 20-year-old Sweta was recovered from a rented apartment at Bharalumukh area of Guwahati on Monday night.
Police recovered the body from the rented house of one Govind Agarwal belonging to lawyer J P Mazumdar near Shantipur.
Police have already arrested Govind Agarwal in connection with the case.
A case has been registered by Bharalumukh police station and Govind is being interrogated.
