Sahitya Akademi Awardee Kuladhar Saikia is set to release his new collection of short stories entitled, ‘If A River and other stories’.
The stories which have been translated from Assamese will be released on February 10 (Saturday) at 3:30 pm during the Brahmaputra Literary Festival getting under way at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra from February 9.

The book has been published by Ratna Books, which is an imprint of Ratna Sagar Pvt Limited, in collaboration with the Publication Board of Assam and National Book Trust of India.
The collection of short stories will be released to the public at Lit Mart, Brahmaputra Literary Festival which will be held at Kalakshetra, Panjabari.
An eminent litterateur, Kuladhar Saikia is also an officer of Indian Police Service and is currently serving as Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order at Guwahati.

Along with receiving the President’s Police Medal twice for his outstanding contribution to his service, he is also the recipient of the prestigious Katha Award in 2000 and the Satiya Akademi award for his short stories in 2015.
The Brahmaputra Literary Festival will conclude on February 11, Sunday.
Around 120 literary personalities from all over the world will be a part of the upcoming lit fest.
Publication Board, Assam and National Book Trust are jointly organizing the literary festival.
College students and teachers have also been invited to interact with reputed literary personalities.
The board aims to make the Brahmaputra Literary festival an attraction for world literature like the Jaipur Literary festival held in Rajasthan.
