“Andra Pradesh has 25 MPs, Madhya Pradesh has 29 MPs and Maharastra has 48 MPs. But northeast, which comprises of 8 states, have only 24 Lok Sabha MPs,” Laishram said.

“The Central government pays attention to the demands of only those states which have a high number of MPs,” he said.

“Since Northeast lacks the number, the Centre is least bothered to the problems of the region,” he reiterated.
