LCD screens introduced in Guwahati ASTC city buses

ASTC city buses in Guwahati are getting a major makeover with new LCD screens installed inside the buses.

Around 1000, buses will be covered under the scheme. Entertainment and knowledge-based programs will be aired on the LCD screens, said an official.

ASTC city buses are operated by Assam State Transport Corporation, a state-owned organization. They provide bus services within the city and other states.

All buses operating under ASTC have the registration code AS-20.

The ASTC City bus service of Guwahati has 23 air-conditioned and 50 non-AC buses under (JNNURM) Phase-II. These city buses ply between Jalukbari-Noonmati, Jalukbari-Beltola via Paltanbazar, ISBT-Mirza and ISBT-Jagiroad routes.
