Land patta and land allotment certificates were distributed among thousands of landless beneficiaries on Tuesday across Assam.
Union minister of state for food processing industries Rameswar Teli on Tuesday distributed 1,655 land pattas and allotment certificates to the landless people of Dibrugarh at the district library auditorium.

Speaking on the occasion, union minister Teli spoke about the government’s commitment to the indigenous landless people of the state.
“The indigenous people of the state are living for decades without the ownership of their land. But after our government came to power and took the matter seriously and decided to provide land pattas to the landless people,” said Teli.
“Our government’s main priority is to work for the development of all the communities of Assam,” Teli said.

“The state government announced to provide 1 lakh land pattas and allotment certificates to the landless people of the state and the process has been started and within a few months it would be completed,” union minister Teli stated.
In Sonitpur, Assam industries & commerce minister Chandra Mohan Patowary distributed land pattas and land allotment certificates among 830 beneficiaries at a function held at the District Library auditorium in Tezpur on Tuesday.
Delivering the welcome address, deputy commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh said the Sonitpur district administration is making all-out efforts to provide land pattas to around 3,000 beneficiaries before March 31, 2020, as directed by the Assam chief minister.
Speaking at the function, minister Patowary hailed the steps initiated by the state government to give land rights to the landless people of the state.
He thanked chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal for taking a special interest in preserving the rights of the indigenous people.
Tezpur MLA Brindaban Goswami while welcoming the efforts of the government said handing land rights to landless people will go a long way in the successful implementation of various welfare schemes of the government.
In the four out of five revenue circles in Jorhat district – East Jorhat Revenue Circle, West Jorhat Revenue Circle, Teok Revenue Circle and Titabar Revenue Circle – 1,248 beneficiaries received land pattas. No land patta was given to any beneficiary in Mariani Revenue Circle.
In all five revenue circles, a total of 709 land allotment certificates were distributed.
State minister of labour and tea tribe welfare Sanjay Kishan distributed the land pattas and land allotment papers to beneficiaries in a token gesture at the Jorhat district library auditorium on Tuesday.
In the same venue, 212 beneficiaries affected by floods in the district were given clothes, utensils and Rs 3,500 in cash.
In Majuli district, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday distributed land patta and land allotment certificates to 4,513 landless families.
