Hailing Assam government’s efforts of fighting COVID-19 pandemic, key ministers of the Central government on Tuesday assured Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of extending all possible help in this direction.
The Centre has also assured Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma of taking steps for an overall development of the State.

Chief Minister Sarma had several back-to-back meetings with key ministers of the Narendra Modi government during his first ever visit to New Delhi after assuming charge as the Chief Minister.
On Monday evening, Sarma met Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed various key issues of the state.
During the second day of his New Delhi visit, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma called on Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

He also several other key Union ministers including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar and Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
“This afternoon called on Union Minister Rajnath Singh. Among others, I thanked him for the exemplary support of DRDO & IV Corps in helping Assam in our battle against Covid,” said Sarma.
Sources said that Sarma during his meeting with Gadkari discussed various developmental projects in the State.
