Guwahati: The Karbi Anglong district administration has ordered the expulsion of three persons declared foreigners by the Foreignersโ Tribunal (FT). The authorities directed them to leave Assam and India within 24 hours of receiving the notices.
District Commissioner issued the expulsion orders on February 2 under Section 2 of the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950. The move followed tribunal verdicts that declared the three individuals as foreigners.
The expelled persons include Md. Faizul Haque of Manja Nadipar village under Manja Police Station. The FT declared him a foreigner in Case No. 280/2006 (C). Md. Rafiqul Ali of Hidim Teron Basti, also under Manja Police Station, was declared a foreigner in FT Case No. 203/2007. Similarly, Md. Fakaruddin of Jadav Rai Grant under Bokajan Police Station was declared a foreigner in FT Case No. 897/2006 (C).
As per the orders, the administration has instructed the three individuals to exit Assam and the country within 24 hours. They must leave through designated routes in Dhubri, Sribhumi, or South Salmara-Mankachar districts.
Meanwhile, the district administration has directed various departments to ensure strict compliance with the expulsion orders. The authorities have asked officials to confiscate all movable and immovable properties belonging to the individuals. They will deposit the properties in the name of the government.
In addition, officials will delete the individualsโ names from electoral rolls. They will also cancel ration cards and freeze or cancel Aadhaar cards. Furthermore, the administration will remove them from all government welfare schemes and social security benefits.
The district authorities have instructed concerned departments to execute the orders without delay. They must submit compliance reports to the district administration.
Notably, the action forms part of the Assam governmentโs ongoing drive to enforce Foreignersโ Tribunal verdicts. The state government has directed all district administrations to act swiftly under the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950.
In recent months, several districts have issued similar expulsion orders. In many cases, the authorities have mandated departure within 24 hours through specified border routes. Meanwhile, the state continues its efforts to address concerns related to illegal immigration.
