The Kamakhya Temple will open for devotees from September 24, the Kamrup (Metro) district administration informed on Monday.
According to a circular issued by the district administration, a total of 500 devotees would be allowed to enter the temple each day.
Kamakhya Temple management committee will arrange online passes for the devotees on the basis of applications of devotees, the guidelines stated.
Persons above 65 years and children below 10 years will not be allowed to visit the temple and the Temple management committee will ensure this strictly at the time of issue of online passes.
The temple authorities will arrange the system for the receipt of online applications and the issue of online passes to the devotees.
For the purpose, they will engage skilled operators at their own cost.
The online passes will be issued on a time slot basis so that the gathering may be controlled.
No homestays will be allowed at the houses in and around the temple premises, for the time being, the guidelines stated.
