The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has recently asked the educational institutions in Assam to monitor the protests of its students against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019.

In order to ensure that the protests of the students do not turn violent and leads to untoward incidents, the educational institutions in Assam has been asked to keep a tab on the protests of the students.
The order of the HRD ministry came following the violent incidents that happened during the CAA protest at Jamia Millia Islamia University in New Delhi recently.

A number of students were seriously injured during clashes with the police during the CAA protest at the university.
Moreover, the HRD ministry has issued orders to the technical education institutes and universities across the country to monitor the social media accounts of its students and teachers.
To ensure that no inappropriate post are posted or circulated by the students and teachers through Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp in the wake of CAA protests, the educational institutions have been asked to keep a tab on their online activities.
The institutions have also been asked to send a report about its activities to the HRD ministry.
