Assam IndiGo Flights

Dibrugarh: Flight operations at Dibrugarh Airport have faced severe disruption over the past five days as IndiGo cancelled 29 flights between December 5 and December 9, 2025 amid a growing operational crisis.

Airport data showed the airline cancelled 10 flights on December 5, six on December 6, six on December 7 and two on December 8. The cancellations included the key DELโ€“DIBโ€“DEL rotation (6E 2314/6604).

On December 9, IndiGo cancelled four more flights, affecting the CCUโ€“DIBโ€“GAU (6E-893/467) and DELโ€“DIBโ€“DEL (6E-2314/6604) services.

The repeated disruptions hit the Dibrugarhโ€“Delhi sector, one of the airportโ€™s busiest routes. Hundreds of passengers were stranded or forced to rebook at higher fares.

The crisis forms part of a wider nationwide disruption. IndiGo cancelled over 500 flights across India in recent days. This marks one of the airlineโ€™s most serious operational breakdowns in years.

In a statement, IndiGo blamed the cancellations on technology glitches, bad weather, airspace congestion and problems linked to the rollout of new Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms.

The Civil Aviation Ministry has launched a formal inquiry. A senior official said authorities will take strict action against those responsible.

Authorities advised passengers on the Dibrugarhโ€“Delhi and Dibrugarhโ€“Kolkata sectors to check flight status before travel as the situation remains fluid.
