During a joint operation, the Kokrajhar battalion of the Indian Army and Assam Police nabbed a cadre of the Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO).

According to official sources, the joint operation was conducted at around 3 pm on Thursday by the Kokrajhar Police and the Kokrajhar battalion of the Indian Army based at Kachugaon.

The operation was carried out on the basis of specific intelligence input.

During the operation, the joint team of Army and police personnel from Kachugaon police station under the leadership of Kokrajhar additional superintendent of police, Siddharth Nahar, was able to nab a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO).

The KLO cadre has been identified as Pradip Roy alias Changma of Ankorbari village under Dhaligaon police station.

He was apprehended by the joint team at 6 pm near the paddy field next to Kalipukhuri in the Salakati area under Kokrajhar district.

The joint was able to recover one foreign-made 7.65 mm pistol, one magazine, 6 rounds of 7.65 mm live ammunition from the possession of the KLO cadre.

“The KLO cadre is currently in the custody of Kokrajhar police station for further investigation,” sources added.
