With the arrival of the monsoon, torrential rains set to lash the Northeastern states—Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

The IMD has said wet weather conditions are brought by the strengthening of south-westerly winds, along with the presence of a cyclonic circulation over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and its neighbouring parts, The Weather Channel reported.

Therefore, heavy rainfall activity has been forecast over the Northeast during the next 3-4 days.
