On the occasion of Assam Police Day on Thursday, state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who also holds the finance portfolio, paid his respects to the state’s police personnel and their families.
In a tweet, the minister said, “On Assam Police Day, I salute the brave hearts of Assam Police and their families who have always been ready to serve in the line of duty.”
It may be mentioned here that October 1 every year is celebrated as Assam Police Day as on this day in 1951, KR Chouwhary, IPS, took charge as Assam Police Chief.
