Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary has sought union home minister Amit Shah’s permission for bringing the anti-talk faction of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) to the negotiating table.
The anti-talk faction of NDFB is called NDFB (S).

Hagrama said this while speaking at the 4th North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) conclave on Monday in Guwahati.
“Assam is infested with insurgency. In Bodoland too there is the anti-talk faction of NDFB (S),” Mohilary said.
“But if you permit me, I can bring the ones in the jungles for talks,” said Mohilary.

Hagrama Mohilary was the leader of now-disbanded Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT), an armed outfit that struggled for a sovereign Bodoland.
The then BJP government at the Centre, however, signed the Bodo Accord with the outfit in 2003 following which the outfit came to mainstream paving way for peace in the region.
In 2005, the organization floated the political outfit called Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) and contested election to the Sixth Schedule Council, BTC, which was created as part of the Bodo Acord.
The party has been in power in the council since then.
Although the insurgency in Assam has reduced to a large extent in the past few years, lasting peace is elusive as the anti-talk faction of NDFB and ULFA militants are yet come to the negotiating table.
