GUWAHATI: A disturbing case of suspected human trafficking has emerged from Silchar in Assam’s Barak Valley, as more than 30 girls were allegedly deceived by a Silchar-based private company named Valuer Fabtax.
The company purportedly enticed these educated girls with promises of nursing appointments in reputed hospitals in Delhi and Haryana.

The matter came to light when 19 of the girls managed to escape from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and returned home.
According to their allegations, upon reaching Delhi on February 15, the girls were taken to a hostel located in a red-light area in Kapashera, Delhi, contrary to the assurances given to them.

Expressing their shock and dismay, the girls revealed that despite being promised jobs and accommodation in Delhi, they were instead placed far from the city.
Furthermore, they were transferred to different locations, with half of them sent to Haryana and the remainder to Ghaziabad.
As of now, the whereabouts of the remaining girls remain unknown, raising concerns about their safety and well-being.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter to apprehend those responsible and ensure justice for the victims.
