The Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Ajagwran Basumatary of Hojai district in Assam on Thursday said that the police have solved the April 1 human trafficking case in the district.
He said this while addressing a press meet in Hojai on Thursday.

The victim woman and her five-year-old son have been ‘successfully rescued’ from the clutches of traffickers from a red light area in Siliguri of neighbouring West Bengal.
The ASP said the woman along with her son are being brought back to Hojai by the five member team of Hojai Police led by sub-inspector Anthony Ronghpii, who went to rescue them.
They are reaching Hojai on Friday morning, he added.

He also described the whole incident is of April 1 last, where from an rented house in Hojai, the three traffickers in a pre-planned way kidnapped a lady along with her five years old son.
He further said that on the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim’s husband at Hojai police station, ‘we have registered a case No 255/18 and, accordingly began the investigation’.
He further said that on the suspicion of victim’s husband, the police have arrested one Farizuddin and his wife from Murajhar on April 14.
While interrogating Farizuddin and his wife, they revealed the involvement of one Jariuddin, resident of Patharkanddi in Karimganj in the case.
“Acting on a tip off, the police caught the third suspect Jariuddin from Dimapur in the wee hours of April 15. After the interrogation, Jaruddin confessed that after kidnapping, they have sold the lady and his son in Siliguri’s red light area,” he elaborated.
Police immediately launched an operation with the help of West Bengal police and within three days of operation they were successful in rescuing the victims, Basumatary further added.
The ASP also said that the police are working continuously for the safety of the citizens.
But it is also the responsibility of the citizens to be aware and keep themselves alert from this type of traffickers, he added.
