“We have alerted all the border districts to be on high alert. We have asked the district commissioners and SPs to personally monitor the border situation,” an official told PTI.
The heightened alert follows violent unrest in Bangladesh, culminating in the resignation and departure of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Border Security Force (BSF) has also issued a “high alert” along the entire 4096-km India-Bangladesh border in response to the developments.
