While heat wave conditions returned to the national capital on Thursday with the mercury touching the 45-degrees Celsius mark, states in the Northeast will continue to remain cool for the next four days.
The Indian Meteorological Department reported that the northeastern states are expected to get heavy to very heavy rainfall during the next 96 hours.
According to reports, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at different places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on Friday.

At the same time, there is possibility of heavy rainfall in different areas of Assam and Meghalaya on Friday.
On Saturday, there is possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with lighting at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, the IMD report said. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are expected.

The IMD report said on June 9, heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
On June 10, heavy rainfall at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya is expected, the IMD report said.
