Guwahati-based businessman and senior member of the Congress, Anupam Bardoloi, was found hanging in his house near AIDC here on Wednesday.
Police said that Bardoloi was found hanging inside a room of his house on Wednesday morning.

Police said that they have recovered a letter from the spot.
“We have registered a case in this regard and investigation is on,” police said while refusing to divulge the details about the letter.
Police said that the preliminary investigation indicated it to be a case of suicide.

Bardoloi was found dead a day after his birthday (December 18).
He married to singer and composer Chinmoyee Bardoloi in 1999.
The last post (at 00:20 am on Wednesday) on his Facebook page read as: “Happr birthday my love. You are my inspritation. Bold and beautiful. You are always with my dreams. One has to be bold to accept the same. Love u, love u, & love u. Nothing else . You are awesome and wowsome.”
On Tuesday at 1:16 am, his post on his Facebook page read as: “I am so very happy today hence wishing you a Merry Christmas in advance…..Enjoy life……alone or with companions……you will never get this moment again….enjoy life….”
His another post on his Facebook page at 1:40 am on Tuesday read as: “Being strong feels you great. Don’t listen to everybody. Do what your heart speaks. But with honesty & sincerely. Cheers friends.”
He also shared a ‘Good morning’ wish on December 18, 2018 at 10:22 am which read as “Never Search, Your Happiness In Others It Will Make You Feel Alone. But Search It In Yourself, You Will Feel Happy Even If You Are Alone.”
Although Bardoloi was a senior member of the Congress, he was not holding any portfolio of the party prior to his demise.
As per information, Bardoloi cleared his MBA From Pondicherry Central University.
Bardoloi, who graduated from Gauhati Commerce College, did his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara in Guwahati.
A Rotary Club member Bardoloi was also the chairman at Smart Institute of Learning (hub of Tata Institute of Social Sciences).
