Guwahati to get water ATMs soon

30 automated water-dispensing units called water ATMs are set to be installed all over Guwahati, under Guwahati Smart City Limited project.

Around 60 water ATMs will be installed eventually out of which 30 will be installed in the first phase, informed M Angamuthu, managing director of Guwahati Smart City Limited.

Some of the locations identified where the water ATMs will be installed are –

#Ganeshguri

#Silpukhuri

#Gauhati University

#Guwahati railway station

#Foodvilla near Nehru Park

#Panbazar

#Chandmari

#Gauhati Medical College and Hospital

#Dispur

#Kamakhya

#Paltan Bazaar

#Nehru Stadium

#Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital

#Khanapara

#Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kachari and Azara, etc.

The purpose of installing these ATMs are making safe drinking water available in public places for the convenience of the citizens. Reverse osmosis technology will be used to ensure the water is fit for consumption. Although the cost of hasn’t been fixed yet for a litre, it is most likely to be a nominal cost so that everybody can access the same.
