Bartholomew Owogbalor Ogbeche, the skipper of NorthEast United Football Club (NEUFC), an important participant in the Indian Super League (ISL), on Saturday paid a visit to the Amchong Tea Estate on the outskirts of Guwahati, to enjoy his week’s day off.
The NEUFC played 1-1 draw against Jamshedpur FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai in Guwahati on Thursday and emerged with one point putting them on the top of the ISL table.

A brilliant goal from captain Ogbeche early in the game gave the Highlanders a crucial lead after Komorski was sent off right at the cusp of half-time.
Informing about the 34-year-old Ogbeche’s week off outing, the NEUFC on its official Twitter handle on Saturday stated: “On this week’s day off, Skipper Bartholomew Ogbeche paid a visit to the Amchong Tea Estate to discover how the world famous Assam Tea is actually made.”
Amchong tea estate, which is located 20 minutes away from Guwahati, spans over 1782 acres of prime land.

Lauding the garden officials for being kind enough to take Ogbeche, who is also known as ‘Big Man Bart’, the NEUFC also tweeted: “The officials at the garden were kind enough to take Bart around the facility!”
A Nigerian professional footballer, Ogbeche, who was born on October 1, 1984, plays for NEUFC as a forward.
Ogbeche was signed by French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain FC, making his debuts with the main squad during the 2001–02 season.
He joined ISL club NEUFC on August 23, 2018 and made his debut on October 1, scoring a goal in a 2–2 draw against FC Goa.
Ogbeche earned the nickname ‘Big Man Bart’ while in the club.
The NEUFC scored a hat-trick on October 18, 2018 during the club’s match against Chennaiyin FC and became the first hat-trick scorer of the season.
