A national seminar on “Recent Trends in Diabetes Research: Emerging Drug Delivery Technologies and Novel Strategies” is being organized by Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, (GIPS) Guwahati.
The seminar will be held on March 6-7 at the GIPS campus. The theme of the seminar is ‘Recent Advancement in Anti-diabetic Products.’

On the first day the Vice Chancellor of ASTU, Dr Dhiraj Bora, Director of NIPER-GHY, Prof. USN Murty, Scientist of Defense Research Laboratory (DRL), Sonitpur, Prof. Pronabesh Chattopadhay and Ratul Das, President, SSA Guwahati, Assam will inaugurate the opening session.
Prof. Gouranga Das, Principal, GIPS will deliver the keynote address about the seminar.
The Keynote speakers at the seminar are Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, Internationally acclaimed Medical Nutritionist, Indo-Vitenam Board, New Delhi and Dr. Jagat Chandra Bora, Senior scientist, IASST, Guwahati.

Some other distinguished speakers are Dr. Santosh S Bhujbals, Professor, Dr. D.Y. Patil Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, Pune, Dr. Barnali S Thakur, Professor, Dr. Ashok Krishna Bhuyan, Diabetologist, GMCH,Guwahati and Plant Head, Ajanta Pharma Ltd, Mirza, Guwahati, Biplab Kr Mishra respectively.
The speakers will share their knowledge in diabetic complications and innovative progress in research for future treatment strategy.
Over 250 participants representing different streams of research across the country will present their work in the field of Diabetes.
The seminar aims to bring together researchers, medical professionals, diabetologists, academician, medicine manufacturers, students and leading specialists in a common platform to discuss current developments in diabetes worlds and about future trends in cost effective anti-diabetic drug products.
