Great North Eastern Run (GNER) is organizing a full marathon in Guwahati on February 25. The marathon will be flagged off from Guwahati and will come to an end at Chandubi.
The marathon initiated by Guwahati Runners and managed by Pegasus Pro Sports International is organized with the aim of building up running culture and building up potential for budding athletes in the region.
The marathon will bring together runners from all across northeast and the rest of the country.
The marathon is divided into categories of 21.1k, 10k and 5k.
Runner can choose to compete in the full marathon; if not, than participating in the half marathon option is also available.
The people competing in the half-marathon will have to cover a stretch of 21.97 kms, which will be till Joypur Forest. The full marathon runners will however have to cover a stretch of 42.195 kms till Chandubi.
All participants will be given a medal and certificate. Cash prizes are also announced for winners in the 21.1k and 10k categories.
