The Theatrepara Malipatty Durga Puja committee in Dibrugarh has been made its pandal with waste materials.
The puja was inaugurated on Thursday evening.

In the last few years, this puja has become one of the major crowd pullers of Dibrugarh as they continue experimenting with their themes and presentation styles.
“This is the 39th year of celebrations of Theatrepara Malipatty Durga Puja,” said Aman Chirania, a puja committee member.
The theme of our pandal is based on the Nav Durga Avataar of Maa,” he added.

“The idol is made up of eco-friendly materials. In the past few years people have been loving our themes,” he said.
The committee has also put up photographs of various Indian icons from different fields.
Apart from the Nava Durga theme, the committee has also showcased themes depicting Assam’s tourism.
“We have also tried to generate public awareness and appealed the public to avoid plastic. We have put up various photographs focussing on this theme,” Chirania added.
Special arrangements have also been made for crowd management.
The Marwari Durga Puja, which is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee year this year, has also come up with a unique theme this year.
Inaugurated by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday, the theme of the puja is ‘dreamland’.
The idols of the puja are made of clay and eco-friendly materials.
Dibrugarh’s famous Jhalukpara Sarbajanin Durga Puja, celebrating its 62nd year has decided to replicate Uttarakhand’s Char Dham- Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.
This puja was also inaugurated by CM Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday inaugurate the puja.
Apart from picking up Adivasi themes, several pujas in and around Dibrugarh has picked by theme depicting environment protection.
