With Guwahati continues to register a record number of COVID19 positive cases, the Assam government has decided to provide free pulse oximeters and medicines for the patients in the city, who prefer to stay in home isolation.
The process will be started from Monday, announced Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday

“From tomorrow, we will provide patient preferring to stay in home isolation a pulse oximeter and first-line supportive medicine completely free in Guwahati City,” Sarma said in a tweet on Sunday.
Health minister Sarma informed that the health department has already activated telemedicine service for the COVID19 patients through 104.
“We have also activated the Tele Medicine service for them through 104,” Sarma said.

He further said the health department “will expand it further to other places soon”.

Kamrup Metro district continues to register nearly 300-500 positive cases on a daily basis with the increase in COVID19 tests being conducted across the city.
In the last 3 days, the Kamrup Metro district has registered an average of 403 positive cases per day.
On August 8, Kamrup Metro recorded a total of 299 COVID19 positive cases while 442 cases were recorded on August 7 and a total of 470 cases were recorded on August 6.
