Four people died in 24 hours at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh due to COVID-19.

On Saturday, 61-year-old Babul Mondal, a resident of Bachipara in Dibrugarh  died due to Covid-19 at AMCH.

Mondal was admitted to AMCH on Friday after he tested Covid-19 positive.

Dolly Gogoi, 62, a resident of Bordoloi Nagar in Tinsukia district, succumbed to the infection at AMCH on Friday.

She was admitted to AMCH two days back.

On Friday, Srimanta Borgohain (48) and Deepak Shahu (45) died due to Covid-19 related complications.

On Friday, the Dibrugarh district reported 126 Covid-19 positive cases.

Dibrugarh University on Friday postponed all ongoing and upcoming examinations after 16 students of the university tested positive for the deadly virus.

Three hostels of the university were declared containment zones by the health authorities after the detection of cases.
