The Border Security Force (BSF), on Sunday, handed over five out of ten Bangladeshi nationals to the BGB, who were apprehended near the India-Bangladesh border on Saturday. 

The Bangladeshi nationals were handed over during a flag meeting between the border forces of the two countries on Sunday as a goodwill gesture. 

The five Bangladeshi nationals, who were handed over to the BGB are: Nurnahar Bibi (35), Nur Islam (07), Md Abul Kalam (25), Mushamad Sahanaj Prabin (21) and Shah Jalal (05). 

“The remaining five Bangladeshi nationals will be handed over to local police of Cooch Behar district in West Bengal for further legal action,” BSF added.

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday nabbed 10 Bangladeshis including five children and four women when they were trying to cross into the Indian territory without any valid documents. 

The Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the BSF troops of 192 Battalion under the Guwahati Frontier near Sabri border outpost (BOP) in Coochbehar district of West Bengal across the Indo-Bangla border. 

All are residents of Kurigram district in Bangladesh.
