The expert panel set up by the Assam government to propose procedures to evaluate students of Class 10 (HSLC and High Madrassa) is likely to submit the report to the education minister Ranoj Pegu on Thursday.

As per reports, the expert panel has proposed no rank system for both HSLC and High Madrassa examinations this year.

The nine-member panel headed by Dr. Alok Buragohain, former Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University has reportedly prepared the report in line with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)’s evaluation formula for assessing the results of class 10 board exams.

The Assam government had set up two panels to propose procedures to evaluate students of Class 10 and 12 in view of the cancellation of this year’s state board examinations due to COVID-19.

The decision to cancel this year’s state board examinations was taken at a meeting convened by the Education Department.

Education minister Ranoj Pegu had earlier said the results of the state board examinations will be declared by July 31 based on the evaluation process to be suggested by the two committees.
