Assam State Disaster Management Authority has in a press note stated that as of Wednesday, a total 530 villages in 24 revenue circles of 11 districts have been affected in the second wave of flood.

The affected districts in the second wave of floods are Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Darrang, Barpeta, Nalbari, Chirang, Golaghat, Majuli, Jorhat and Dibrugarh of Assam
A total of three persons have lost their lives due to flood and landslide in the districts of Kamrup (M), Golaghat and Dhemaji.

So far, a total of 2,07,098 number of population have been affected in the flood in the 11 districts.
Rivers Brahmaputra in Jorhat and Sonitpur, Dikhou in Sivasagar, Dhansiri in Golaghat, Jia Bharali in Sonitpur and Beki in Barpeta districts are flowing above danger level.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have been pressed into service in the flood affected areas for search and rescue operation.
Presently, 13 numbers of camps are operational in Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Golaghat and Jorhat districts with 249 inmates and 10 relief distribution centres in the districts of Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Golaghat and Jorhat have been established.
