‘Light less earthen lamp this Diwali’, Assam BJP chief urges people

Assam BJP chief Bhabesh Kalita has made a bizarre request to the people of the state for the Diwali celebrations this year. 

The Assam BJP president has reportedly urged the people of the state to light less number of earthen lamps while celebrating Diwali.

“Light less numbers of earthen lamps this Diwali,”  Assam BJP chief Bhabesh Kalita reportedly urged the people of the state.  

This bizarre request was made by the Assam BJP president in light of high price of mustard oil in markets of the state.

This is not the first that the Assam BJP president made such bizarre statements. 

Earlier, Assam BJP president Bhabesh Kalita had said that he will urge the state government to consider tripling on two-wheelers after petrol prices touch Rs 200.  

“When petrol prices touch Rs 200, the state government can be approached for permission to allow tripling on two-wheelers,” Assam BJP chief Bhabesh Kalita had said. 

The Assam BJP chief further said that people should avoid using cars and instead opt for tripling on two-wheelers to counter hig prices of petrol and diesel.
