Dispur police on Friday arrested a drug peddler with 100 grams of brown sugar from Sixmile area in Guwahati. The drug peddler identified as Nur Islam, 18, was arrested at 1 pm on Friday.
The police found that the arrested Nur Islam was carrying the illegal drugs inside his helmet. Police also seized 20 containers and four mobile phones from his possession.
Hailing from western Assam’s Dhubri district, Islam had been residing for a long time at a rented house in Panjabari area of the city.
Islam was caught by police at Sixmile after having been chased for long hours on Friday.
He is currently being interrogated by the police.
