Driving schools’ owners have said that due to the pandemic people are refraining from getting themselves admitted to learn driving.

They have said that it has become difficult for them to earn daily breads as there is a massive shortage of customers.
Paras Das, owner of JRD driving school in Assam’s Pathsala said, “It has been a very difficult phase. For the past two years, we are unable to meet our basic needs. Our earnings have gone down to zero.”
“It is difficult to pay money to the insurance companies as our income has been negligible due to COVID-19. We have suffered huge financial loses,” he added.

“The role of the State government is of prime importance. I request the government to grant monthly relief so that we can pay insurances and fines,” Das further said.
Noted social worker from Bajali district of Assam – Giridhar Choudhury said: “Since the last two years, owners of driving school and drivers in the State are facing huge financial losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns.”
