A book chronicling Phukan’s five-year legislative work and development initiatives was released during the event.

Digboi: The citizens’ programme organised at Luit Silpi Samaj in Digboi on Sunday, on the occasion of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s birth anniversary, saw a large public turnout and was attended by local BJP legislator Suren Phukan.

The gathering included discussions on Phukan’s leadership and development work in the Digboi constituency.

The programme was attended by social workers, writers and poets, retired school and college principals, former government and AOD officials, senior academicians, sportspersons, women representatives, and members of the business community.

Participants reviewed Digboi’s developmental progress over the past five years.

Speakers expressed satisfaction with the pace, scale, and direction of development under Phukan’s tenure, noting improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare delivery, and road connectivity.
